About the role
Join the Financial Institutions Client Relations team as an Account Representative supporting the growth of our Homeowner Mortgage Loan Insurance portfolio.
In this role, you will drive business growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external clients, as well as industry stakeholders. You will identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships with CMHC. You will manage the full client engagement cycle, from prospecting and onboarding to ongoing relationship management, while actively promoting CMHC’s mortgage loan insurance products. You will identify risks, opportunities and provide advice and information transfer to clients including training on products, policies and tools to help strengthen their business.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain strong ties and long-term relationships with financial institution partners to promote CMHC’s mortgage loan insurance products.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach, market analysis and strategic engagement.
- Manage the full sales cycle for your client portfolio, including prospecting, onboarding, retention and expansion of product usage.
- Analyze and synthesize a wide variety of information, such as volume reports, client activity profiles, and market analysis data, to develop and execute sales strategies that promote
- CMHC mortgage loan insurance within a portfolio of Financial Institution clients.
- Manage the relationship with clients in your portfolio, including business volumes, client activity profiles, lender retention, lender usage of CMHC’s emili interface software, and increase visibility through planned client visits, training programs, and business development initiatives.
Deliver engaging presentations and training both virtually and at client events and participate in training and information activities as part of strategic client support. - Manage your assigned portfolio, including the budget and other resources, to ensure optimum client service and efficiency.
- Act effectively by collaborating with the other members of the Client Relationship Management team.
What you should have:
- Post-secondary education in relevant field such as Sales, Marketing, Business.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the financial services industry, preferably in client-facing or business development roles.
- In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending activities, in particular CMHC's mortgage loan insurance products and services for owner-occupied and multi-family dwellings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with skills the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the sales cycle and drive client engagement through consultative selling.
- Excellent marketing and business development skills, with a flair for delivering effective group presentations and training.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships and recognize business opportunities.
- Travel will be required.
It would be great if you also had:
- Knowledge of underwriting.
