About the role

We are currently hiring 1 full-time Student Intern for a 4-month Fall internship from September to December 2024. The student will become part of the Multi-Unit Underwriting team. 

 

Here’s an example of how you’ll make an impact:

 

  • Execute maintenance activities with respect to data and data-quality, relevant to financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects, carrying out specified project activities within defined time and quality parameters and ensuring adherence to the prescribed project management methodology.
  • Track progress against budgets within established finance systems and report variances to colleagues that are more senior.
  • Extract and combine data to generate standard reports.
  • Produce, update and provide best practice support on a wide range of reports, databases and other departmental systems to support team deliverables.
  • Gather, analyze and evaluate financial information for assigned financial analysis. Provide financial reporting support in preparing reports, presentations, etc. Work on special projects as required.     

  

 What you need to succeed:  

 

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a College or University degree in a related discipline such as accounting, finance, commerce or business administration.
  • A previous experience in finance or banking, and knowledge of relevant financial, legislative and regulatory environments. The experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience or volunteer activities. 
  • The ability to function in a sophisticated technological environment using tools such as spreadsheets, and applications as well as consolidation and reporting tools such as MS Excel and PowerBI.
  • Strong oral and written communication, excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.  

 

Nice to have:

 

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset, but not required. 
  • Pursuing a CPA is considered an asset
  • Experience working with PowerBI.
